The Diversity of Opinions on Iraq, Syria, Iran, Israel and Nuclear Arguments is Astounding
Will there ever be peace in the Middle East one might ask? And as much as folks try to negotiate, well there is just too much hate in the world these days, especially there, and the tensions are perpetually tense even in times of no real fighting. It seems there is a diversity of opinions about the Middle East from India to Turkey to Egypt to Yemen.
In fact, not long ago, I was talking with a Middle Eastern raised individual who is very much against the US involvement in tribal areas of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, and its support of Israel. This isn’t really all that surprising, as such opinions are quite common in the Middle East. Specifically he believed the United States make a mistake with the second Iraq gulf war, and doesn’t want to see it happen again in Iran or Syria citing the potential for further destabilization of the region.
He believes this would incite Al Qeada, Taliban, Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations [10-more of which are HQ'ed in Syria] to band together to attack a common enemy namely the Western Powers. Yes, this is one assessment and yet, we might also look at the consequences of a nuclear weaponized Iran or Syria also.
The Middle Eastern raised individual also notes that currently; “the terrorist are quite weak and decentralized,” and this individual realizes that Iran wants nuclear weapons because Pakistan has them on one border and its arch nemesis Israel has them nearby too. Another reason Syria is seeking nuclear weapons even though Israel blew up and attacked their nuclear plant which was built with help from North Korea. [as per leaked reports and Israeli Intelligence].
Meanwhile most Middle Easterners believe that Israel has been “aggressive” towards Lebanon, Syria, and the Palestinian area. But, indeed, Israel has been defending itself from terrorist bus bombings, and rocket barrages too. He believes that just because Israel does not want Iran to have nuclear weapons is not a good reason for the US to stop Iran and intervene or cause trade sanctions which hurt Iran.
Still, I asked him, well; can Iran be trusted with nukes? To which he states; “I think Iran has every right to develop it and people often say we don’t trust Iran’s leadership but I think if we could trust Israel with nuclear weapons than why not Iran?” So, even though Iran uses insurgents and terrorist organizations to serve its political will, he seems to think this is okay – which is very problematic if the Iran lends a few nuclear weapons to such folks isn’t it?
So, I have some more questions for folks who might agree with his summation of the geo-political affairs of the region such as; what would they have done in Iraq and do you believe that the US should not attack Iran, and what are your thoughts on a Palestine nation someday? And yes, what about the proxy terrorist issues, do folks in the Middle East believe that Iran will not give nuclear weapons to proxy terrorist groups and what are their thoughts about Syria hosting 10-terrorist groups (HQ’ed) in their nation?
Here is another concept, what might they say to the issues of an unbalanced power base now in Iran as opposed to Iraq, as if Iran is attacked and the military is destroyed then wouldn’t that re-balance the power in the region? And I ask these folks who support Syria and Iran with nuclear weapons if they feel that Israel does not have the right to protect itself against Hamas and Hezbollah rocket attacks? And too that point do they feel that Iran has the right to protect itself with “Offensive” tactical and ICBM nuclear weapons – then wouldn’t that also mean you’d agree that Israel has the right to defend its little nation there too? My guess is that many in the Middle East would never side with Israel no matter what, thus such discussions can really never get very far? Please consider all this.
Iran, Israel, and God’s End-Times Plan
Secret Military Option Against Iran?
Sources indicate a secret Israel – Saudi Arabia deal for a military option against Iran has been negotiated. This will include allowing Israel jets to fly through Saudi air space on their way to attack the terrorist regime. Because some experts believe Iran could obtain nuclear capability by the end of this year, Israel is developing plans to halt that nuclear progress.
This could be a significant development as it is very likely that Israel will indeed attack the terroristic Ahmadinejad regime by the end of this year. If that occurs, it is likely the opposition movement, which has been growing for the past year and a half, will take advantage of the ensuing chaos of the military strike and overthrow the regime. That will result in a significant impact upon the Middle East, leading to the apparent stamping out of terrorism and a changed region which will be open to working with Israel on a seven-year treaty. This will be the end-times treaty predicted in the Bible, which will be accompanied by world leaders proclaiming “peace and security”.
Iran’s Nuclear Progress
Speaking of Iran’s pursuit of nuclear capability, the International Atomic Energy Agency last week issued a report that indicated Iran has pursued seven different kinds of technologies which could enable Iran to make a nuclear bomb. In addition, the report also indicated activities related to the development of a nuclear payload for a missile. Finally, the report Iran conducted experiments that have no other application than for nuclear weapons. (These include “the explosive compression of uranium deuteride to produce a short burst of neutrons”.)
The Iranian leadership’s motivation for the pursuit of nuclear activity is to bring the Twelfth Imam on the scene. He is the end-times Muslim Messiah (also called the Mahdi) who is believed to bring the world under Islamic rule. Sources indicate that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Spiritual Leader Ali Khamenei believe they are in direct contact with this end-times figure. Reportedly, the Mahdi has directed them to do three things: 1) eliminate Israel; 2) bring the Middle East under Iranian control; and 3) produce global chaos. Nuclear weaponry would be helpful for all three of those goals.
Goal number one is why Israel must halt Iran’s nuclear progress. While the Jewish nation has slowed progress in a number of ways, Iran is still making advances toward its nuclear ambition. Thus, it appears Israel will be forced to launch a military attack-and quite possibly, by the end of this year.
The Inevitable Fall of Iran
In addition to the deal with Israel (mentioned above), Saudi Arabia is seeking to rally the Middle East against Iran. Saudi officials have approached Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Central Asian states (to name some) for diplomatic and military support against the Persian state.
This adds to the trouble that is deepening in the Iranian regime. After all, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad risks impeachment by Spiritual Leader Ali Khamenei over his attempt to wrest control of the Intelligence Ministry. In addition, the opposition movement, begun a year and a half ago, appears to be steadily growing, with members in high ranks in the military and in Iranian political offices. Thus, what began as a crack in the regime, appears to be a growing divide, preparing to bring down the “house” of Ahmadinejad.
Were Israel to launch a military attack, the opposition movement would likely take advantage of the resulting chaos to remove the current regime. If that were to happen, the government would be replaced by a pro-democratic one, which would halt Iran’s support of terrorism. That would have an effect on terrorism in the region with groups such as Hamas, Hizbullah, and al-Qaeda being adversely affected. This would also likely embolden those in the Middle East who seek to throw off the shackles of terrorism and radical Islamic control. This in turn would prepare the region to work with Israel on a treaty of “peace and security,” in line with end-times Bible prophecy.
It appears God is arranging the actors on the stage for His end-times plan. What is described above occur very rapidly, so we need to keep looking up!
Iran, Israel: Showdown!
British Foreign Secretary William Hague alleges that Iran has carried out secret tests of missiles capable of delivering a nuclear payload. If so, these tests would be in breach of U.N. resolution 1929. But there is a bigger problem here than simply a breach of a U.N. resolution; it is an issue in which the world, itself, is at stake.
There does not seem to be much doubt that Iran is seeking to improve the accuracy of these test missiles-missiles which are capable of delivering nuclear warheads. Thus, in addition to improving the accuracy of those missiles, it is clear that Iran is seeking to build the nuclear warheads that will go on those missiles.
These tests signify that the terrorist regime is preparing to overtake the region (then the world) and to eliminate Israel, which are the first two necessary steps for introducing the Twelfth Imam (the Mahdi or Muslim Messiah) onto the world’s stage. (Shiite Muslims believe that the Twelfth Imam, who supposedly lived during the 9th century A.D., never died. They believe that when he returns publicly, he will bring the world under the domination of Islam.) Iranian President Ahmadinejad believes he is in direct communication with the Mahdi who, supposedly, has given him direction to obtain nuclear weaponry in order to carry out these “necessary” steps. This is where these missile tests come into play.
Thus, the real danger to this is that Ahmadinejad and his regime are following religious zeal, which cannot be negotiated or swayed. As a result, there is only one way to stop that regime from acquiring nukes, and that is to replace it. Since Biblical prophecy quite clearly shows us that God will not allow anyone to eliminate Israel, we know that it will not be Israel which will go down; instead, it will be the Iranian regime which will be overturned.
The only nation with both the capability and the willingness to go after Iran is Israel. Thus, look for the Jewish nation to launch a military attack against Iran before the terrorist regime can acquire nuclear capability. When? Well, according to some nuclear experts, Iran could be nuclear capable by the end of this year.
To fulfill its goal of dominating the Middle East, Iran is deepening its infiltration in countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, and Gaza. For example, three U.S. soldiers in Iraq were killed this past week in a rocket attack near the Iranian border. This marks the bloodiest month for U.S. troops in Iraq in two years. Military officials blame the growing death toll on Iran, which is training, equipping, and funding Shiite militias in Iraq for the express purpose of killing American troops.
The U.S. ambassador to Iraq, James Jeffrey, stated Tuesday that evidence demonstrates that Iran is supporting Iraqi insurgents with new weapons and training. Other U.S. defense officials recently confirmed that Iran has funneled new weapons into Iraq and Afghanistan. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has smuggled rocket-assisted exploding projectiles to its militia allies in Iraq, which have already resulted in the deaths of American troops. In addition, Iranians have provided long-range rockets to the Taliban in Afghanistan, which enable the insurgents’ ability to hit U.S. and other coalition positions from a safer distance.
On another angle, Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal, a former Saudi intelligence chief, warned senior NATO military officials that if Iran obtains nuclear capability, Saudi Arabia will build nuclear weapons. Middle East experts have feared for some time that if Iran acquires nukes, it will spawn a nuclear race throughout the region. That would make a dangerous place all the deadlier.
However, it will not get to that, as Bible prophecy indicates that the region will eventually (perhaps sooner than later?) open up to the Jewish nation in a treaty producing “peace and security”. Furthermore, though Iran is racing toward nuclear capability, Israel will not allow the regime to obtain it. And as the terrorist regime is seeking to advance its plan, Iran is devoting much of its defense toward Israel and the U.S., its main threats in the region. However, the Iranian regime will not be able to overcome Israel, God’s chosen nation; and, in reality, Israel that will be the lone threat to Ahmadinejad and the regime of terror.
But the drama is building, as God prepares the region for a dramatic showdown between Israel and Iran. This dramatic build-up is a necessary preparation for Israel’s military launch on the terrorist regime, which will likely result in a coup on the Persian government. Furthermore, this will culminate in a climactic and dramatic change in the region, preparing the Middle East for the end-times treaty with Israel and world leaders proclaiming, “Peace and security!”
Therefore, as we see Iran move ever closer to its goal of obtaining nuclear weapons, we can know the time is getting short. For those who understand what the Bible says about the future, this should not produce a sense of foreboding, but a realization that God has a great and amazing plan in store. It is a plan that will initially result in Israel overcoming terrorism and will lead (seven years later) to the return of Christ.
So, keep looking up!
