Is the Iran-Syria War Pact Still Intact?
Several years ago, the Iranian and Syrian Leadership entered a very verbal and highly publicized war-pact, most likely due to the Iran’s worry that it might someday in the future find itself in a war with Israel or the United States. Adding Syria’s military might to Iran’s could insure that an attack on either would be met with a much larger and stronger force than either one might muster by themselves.
If Syria gets into a war, Iran promises to come to her aid as a brother and fight any Syrian enemy along side of her. If Iran is attacked by the Jewish State, or if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities, then Syria promises to attack Israel and help defend and fight with Iran. Well, at least that is the war pact currently in place; that is the plan.
Now then, I ask; “What if the US is involved and comes to Israel’s aid?” or “What if the US pre-empts Iran’s nuclear weapons program, will Syria fight the US and forfeit its civilization for Iran?” Good questions, and so recently, I was having this discussion with a post cold war era scholar, Jesse Giraldo, and I asked him what he made of the Syrian-Iranian War Pact which has been so highly publicized throughout the Middle Eastern Media. He stated;
“As far as Syria is concerned I don’t think their willing to bend over backwards for Iran, If the U.S continues to put pressure on their trade relations while giving Syria a more lucrative alternative I really can’t see Iran’s economy doing anything but weaken and Syria further distancing themselves from Iran.”
Indeed, and that appears to be the new diplomacy plan. But Syria is also said to be run by a group of very shifty folks, switching sides a lot to serve their own immediate interests, I think it is an interesting tactic and change in policy, and it might be worthy of the risk. It throws things off balance, and it is interesting.
Also Syria feels it gets more power in working with the US commercial enterprises, it protects them from getting involved in a conflict they cannot win. Besides Syria has huge ties to France, Germany, and other nations too, ties that Iran doesn’t have economically now. So, Europe, NATO could be willing to allow an Iranian conflict, but would prefer not to have Syria involved, as that could turn into a can of worms. Israel knows this.
Right now, it appears that Syria and Iran may honor their war pact agreement during times of peace, or tension, but in the middle of a war, would Syria really go to war with the United States of America? Syria does have more friends and trading partners than Iran, who else might step in, or would it be over far too soon for that? These are all questions, questions which may never be answered, or at least let’s hope.
The Iran War Against Israel Has Begun
The elimination of Israel is a primary goal of the Iranian regime of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Ahmadinejad believes he is in direct contact with the Twelfth Imam (the Mahdi), the Muslim Messiah. The Twelfth Imam has, supposedly, directed him to eliminate Israel, to dominate the Middle East, and, then, to take control of the world, according to the Hadith (Muslim writings on par with Muslim scripture). This is what is driving Ahmadinejad to pursue nuclear weapons in spite of sanctions and “attacks” by Israel on centrifuges and computers which control the centrifuges.
But Ahmadinejad is not waiting on the arrival of nuclear capability to go after Israel. In fact, he has already begun an Iranian war against the Jewish nation. This war is currently being waged via Hizbullah and Hamas.
As part of that war, Israel has seen an increase in rocket attacks from Gaza in recent weeks. At least one person has been killed in the attacks and dozens wounded, two of whom are in critical condition.
It turns out that this barrage of more than 90 missiles from Gaza, launched against a million Israeli civilians, is actually a follow-up to the attack on Israeli soldiers that took place on August 18. That attack was carried out by gunmen who killed 8 Israelis and injured 40. It turns out that this act of aggression in southern Israel was planned, orchestrated, and funded by Iran, with Hizbullah participation. In other words, the missile attacks and the assault by gunmen were coordinated ones in Iran’s current war against Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu stated that Israel’s response would be “commensurate with the breach of its sovereignty,” while Defense Minister Ehud Barak revealed that “the source of the terror is Gaza.”
However, while the source does appear to be Gaza, the real origin of these latest attacks is Iran. It is true that the operations emanated from Gaza, but Iran, not only made it all possible, but pushed for them to happen.
Prime Minister Netanyahu met late Saturday night with 8 of his trusted ministers to determine how to respond. One government official declared that the government hopes to avoid an operation in Gaza. However, the statement was made prior to the barrage of at least five more missiles on Be’er Sheva that killed one and wounded several others. In a warning to the Jewish nation, a Hamas spokesman threatened Israel with a sharp reprisal if Gaza were attacked.
According to Defense Minister Barak, Israel is hitting back, having killed “most of the perpetrators… and the senior terrorists responsible for the attack.” However, ultimately, Israel will need to make the decision to go after “the head of the snake.” That is, Israeli leaders can only put off the inevitable for so long; they will need to launch a military attack on Iran. When that occurs, it could be the beginning of exciting end-times fulfillment. How so?
The Bible predicts a seven-year treaty with Israel, co-signed by ten national leaders that will begin the clock ticking on the final seven years leading to the return of Christ. It appears from Scripture that five of those leaders will be from Arab states and five from European nations.
Since Iran has blocked “peace” talks between Israel and the Palestinians (who will not be part of the end-times treaty with Israel), one would strongly suspect that the Persian terrorist regime would also do everything in its power to obstruct any attempted treaty between Israel and Middle Eastern nations. Hence, for Scripture to be fulfilled in that way, the Iranian regime will need to be deposed.
Another telling factor that the Ahmadinejad government will need to be removed is that, in conjunction with the end-times treaty with Israel, the Bible reveals that world leaders will proclaim, “Peace and security!” (as per 1 Thessalonians 5:3). There is no way this scenario would emerge while the biggest fomenter of terrorism in the world reigns; thus, Ahmadinejad and his regime will need to go down.
While there is a growing opposition movement in Iran, which will be fueled even more with the (coming) deposition of Bashar al-Assad of Syria by Syrian protestors, it alone will not bring down Ahmadinejad. (The movement tried doing that in 2009, but Ahmadinejad brutally pushed it underground.) It will need a big “push”. This push will likely emanate from a military attack by Israel.
After all, Israeli leaders know their time is running out to halt Iran’s nuclear progress; for Iran will soon have enough enriched uranium to make at least two nuclear bombs. The Jewish leadership also understands that when Ahmadinejad acquires these nuclear bombs, he will not hesitate to use them on the Israel. Thus, Israel needs to go after Iran before it obtains that capability. When it does, the Iranian opposition movement will likely be emboldened by the opportunity and by the courageous example of the Syrian protestors and take full advantage of the resulting chaos of Israel’s strike.
At that point, the regime will most likely be deposed. When that occurs, the entire region will be changed, as Iran’s departure from the terrorism scene will adversely affect other terrorist entities (such as Hamas, Hizbullah, and even al-Qaeda), and the region will then feel empowered to bring down terrorism. This will then set the stage for the treaty with Israel and for “peace and security”-in the region and in the world.
Iran’s current war on Israel appears to be baiting the Jewish nation to come after it. It appears that one day very soon the terrorist regime will be very sorry it enticed Israel in that way. On that day, the regime’s loss will be the region’s gain. It will also be the beginning for the fulfillment of end-times Bible prophecy.
Iran, $10 Gas, and World War 3
Iran is taking advantage of the Iraq situation. The U.S., the largest and most powerful nation in the world, has become bogged down in a war similar to Vietnam. High casualties and we can’t stop the insurgents. As stated on CNN -”they come out of nowhere, set bombs and traps, and then disappear. It’s a real mess.” The situation in Iraq has U.S. ratings on everything from George Bush to the economy at an all time low. Iran is seeing this as the best opportunity to push the limits. The U.S. is already burdened by Iraq and the New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina disaster.
In tonight’s speech the President stated that we cannot give up on what we have already accomplished in Iraq. He is right. But with all our CIA, NSA, and reports from credible sources that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction hidden in caves in Syria – why don’t we go and see? Why did we let the U.N. investigators go on wild goose chases when the weapons were buried and hidden elsewhere? If Syria is really hiding these chemical and biological weapons are they really our friend? Iran knows where they are and has their own supply to boot. Notice how they waited until the U.S. public opinion on the war in Iraq started to dwindle before starting their uranium enrichment program.
According to the bible and the new bible code revelations this is all spelled out. The actual, tested, codes reveal a chemical supply (anthrax) in the hills of Syria, hidden in caves guarded by Saddam’s terrorist buddies. The bible codes along with the bible and backed by some of the most learned and respected rabbi’s in the world spell out that Iran will result in 3 words – World War 3! Yes, it will result in ever increasing gas prices, but it will also result in financial collapse. Many people are saying that, finally, after all these years the prophecies spoken about in Revelations have already begun. That’s pretty scary.
Regardless, Iran is obviously up to no good and should and will be dealt with severely – unfortunately the U.N. security counsel will not do anything until March. I wonder how many nuclear weapons or even dirty nuclear and biological weapons they could create in this time. What I can’t see is, regardless of religion, why can’t we all just get along and stop killing each other and playing power games?
Iran is a serious threat and will result in higher gas prices and probably cause a recession, whether or not it ends in war. We need to find and fund new energy sources, hybrid technology, etc… As Jimmy Carter said back in the 70′s – we need to lower our dependence on foreign oil or it will hurt us. We’ll this is what has happened. We as a nation are in debt to our eyeballs, we love big vehicles, etc… We need to start preparing for leaner times. A recession would hit us hard, but war with Iran, while still occupying Iraq, and still paying for Hurricane Katrina rebuilding could actually bring upon a depression – experts are now saying it is possible. We are actually in worse shape now than we were in 1929 to face a possible depression. Iran is a serious problem. The experts are in unison on this one – start to conserve.
