ABSTRACT Hearing-impaired patients using cochlear implants are often in noisy environments at school, home ,office and in the general community. For this reason, it was of interest to compare the results of speech perception scores in noise and quite. This study compares sentence understanding in quite and noise with two different speech coding strategies (the CIS strategy of MED-EL combi 40+ and ACE strategy understanding in quite was not significantly different between these two strategies. Understanding in noise were least reduced for both ratio of SIN was 10 dB. |
