ABSTRACT

Since one of the most important stages after the cochlear implantation surgery is setting the threshold level M.C.I as well as U.C.L in children with concerning the fact that the response in children is quite subjective and suffers lack of high credibility ,it is recommended to dertmine in M.C.L through few suitable objective procedures. One of these objective methods is electrical stapedial reflex threshold (ESRT) which due to its execution process and use of tympanometer equipment needs normal setting of the middle ear. Fasical or muscle which use in order to make electrode.

fixation during cochlear implantation plus removing the incus ,maybe disturb the middle ear setting therefore for this fault we recommend neuro stapidial reflex threshold (N.E.S.R. T) recording. This method is based on recording the nerve current produced by stimulating sensory motor branch of VII nerve. It is possible to reach more precise and earlier responses through this method because recording is done by using electro neurography system and this process does not need to establish a natural setting in middle ear. Moreover this procedure enables us to reach other goals that will be explained further.
