ABSTRACT In the recent years the cochlear implant (C.I.) has been applied as a more similar substitute for the impaired hearing sensory organ in the world and we observe the progress of technical features of prosthesis and also requests for implantation by hearing impaired people. But who will really be more benefited from cochlear prosthesis, and from what kind ? I investigated auditory perception
results in 4 prelingual adult patients aged between 12 to 20 years who were implanted by 22
channel Nucleus spectra and one prelingual adult deaf ages 15 years implanted by single channel 3M House (All-Hear) Prosthesis
in Iran. This comparison probably shows a prospective of differences between multi-channel and single-channel in prelingual adult
patients . |
