TITLE: THE LEVEL OF PROPER EXPECTATIONS IN CI PATIENTS

ABSTRACT


Seventeen deaf persons(10 postlingual, age: 9-35 years old and 7 congenital, age: 7-17 years old) have been implanted in Cochlear implantation center of Iran. All patients or their parents participated in consultation program before selection. The level of expectations by cochlear implantation evaluated two times. First before implantation and second 6 months after switch of CI.

The results have indicated poslingual patients %80 -%95 before surgery expectations and congenital patients achieved %25 -%65 expectation .
